The Department of English was introduced in the year 1998 with the objective to offer a thorough knowledge in language and literature. Ever since its inception the department has been facilitating the students to learn the skills which enhance, enlighten and empower them in all walks of life. With the well intended vision the Post Graduation course (M.A) in English was established in 2004.

The objective of the Department is to enable the students meet the challenges in contemporary changing world. It has the noble vision of enriching the intelligence of students. With the students strength of 420 and above the department grooms the student academically and ethically sound. It is keen on nurturing the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular talents of the students. The Department has been engaged in the mission of teaching literature and language in dedicated manner. Foundation course in English is offered for the students of all discipline, with the objective to enable their communication skills.

The students of the Department are active participants of intra and inter collegiate competitions. The vibrant teams of teachers strive to extend selfless service to make the students professionally competent.The language laboratory has been established in 2008,computer assisted language learning is being offered .LCD, Television, Software of language, Seminars related to Spoken English help the students to acquire the skills-Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
